Université de Moncton Engineering Students to Participate in the 2021 National Engineering Competition
The Université de Moncton’s Faculty of Engineering students participated in the Atlantic Engineering Competition, which was held virtually from January 22 to 24 2021.
During the competition, which was hosted by the University of Prince Edward Island, one team from Université de Moncton obtained a 2nd-place finish in the Senior Design category, and another team also obtained a 2nd-place finish in the Engineering Communications category. A third team participated in the Junior Design category.
The Senior Design team included Mélissa Pellerin, Nikos Doiron, Joshua Flight and Christian Gregan. The Engineering Communications team was comprised of Janelle Melanson and Emilie Savoie. The Junior Design team included Ange Ibanba Mubibya, Ilyas Mbarki, Kassolo Jean-Baptiste Karidioula and Zhong Hao Hao.
The top 2 teams in each category get to participate in the National Engineering Competition, which will be held virtually from February 26 to 28 2021 and is organized by the University of New Brunswick. The Université de Moncton will be represented by the Senior Design Team and the Engineering Communications team.
Each year, the Atlantic Engineering Competition is organized by a university member of the Atlantic Council of Engineering Students. This competition allows students of the Atlantic provinces to demonstrate their engineering skills and knowledge, while promoting youth innovation. It is a unique learning opportunity that enhances leadership skills, teamwork, management skills, and innovation.
