The Faculty of Engineering Presents the Alumni of the Year 2020 and Student Awards

During a virtual banquet held on June 26^, 2020, Gabriel Cormier, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, announced the Alumni of the Year 2020 and the recipients of multiple student awards.

Gilles Gagnon was recognized as Alumni of the Year 2020. Mr. Gagnon obtained his Bachelor of Science (Industrial Engineering) from the Université de Moncton in 1990. He has been employed at Michelin North America (Canada) Inc. for the past 30 years. He has held several roles within the company and is currently Production Manager at the Michelin Plant in Waterville, Nova Scotia.

The 2020 Graduate of the Year award was presented to Emilie Landry, a graduate of the mechanical engineering program. The 2020 Student Engagement Excellence Award was presented to Charles Rand, graduate of the mechanical engineering program. Damien Larocque received the 2020 Best Academic Performance Award. Mr. Larocque is a graduate of the electrical engineering program.

The 2020 Duc T. Phi Award was presented to Megane Consolatrice Ware, electrical engineering (3^rd year). The 2020 Victor Ross Award and the 2020 Noyan Turkkan Award were bestowed upon Alexis Gauvin, mechanical engineering (3^rd year).

The year 2019–2020 marks 50 years of engineering graduates at the Université de Moncton, and 30 years of mechanical engineering graduates. The Faculty of Engineering offers programs in civil engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. The class of 2020 saw a total of 55 new graduates: 52 at the bachelor level and three at the master’s level.
