The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus will have four rookies at training camp for the next Atlantic University Sport soccer season.

Twin brothers Jonathan and Julien Kisse, from Toronto, Ryan Breau, of Moncton, and Thierry Djendoue, of Saint John, have confirmed with head coach Younes Bouida they will be at training camp for the 2021-2022 season.

The Kisse twins have played most of 11 years on the same team, except for last season. They are happy to return to play on the same team. Julien Kisse, 18, is a graduate from école Saint-Frère-André, in Toronto. A lateral defenceman, he measures 5′8″ and weighs 157 lb. He played with Sigma FC U21 in Toronto last summer. He did some training in the past season. “I met coach Younes at a tournament in Ottawa and he convinced me to visit the Moncton campus,” Julien Kisse said. “I appreciated his approach and the way he explained the program during a visit in Moncton. I was also impressed with the stadium. I wanted to continue my studies in French.” Julien will pursue business administration (finances) studies. The Sigma team played in the Toronto soccer Elite League.

Striker Jonathan Kisse, 18, also played with Sigma FC U21, in Toronto, last summer before moving west to study and play at Simon Fraser University in the fall of 2019. He wanted to study in French and chose Université de Moncton. He also graduated from école Saint-Frère-André. He measures 5′10″ amd weighs 165 lb. “I really enjoyed visiting the Moncton campus and I met a number of players during my visit,” stated Jonathan Kisse. “We were very well received. I know the soccer program is solid and they also have a good journalism program, something I am really interested in. I enjoy playing with my brother and we communicate well on the field.”

Goaltender Ryan Breau, 17, just graduated from école L’Odyssée of Moncton. He has been a member of the high-performance Soccer NB program for the last three years. He was named one of two leaders of the program this past season and was a member of the indoor soccer U18 provincial championship team, having won the title on penalty kicks. He was also a member of Team NB that won for the first time the Needham Memorial Tournament in Boston, in 2018. “This is a dream come true for me to play for the Aigles Bleus,” said Ryan Breau. “Soccer is my sport and I just love it. I have always played as a goaltender in my 11 years in the sport.” Breau was also a member of the Codiac U15 to U17 AAA teams over the years and played for Chaleur AAA U17 last summer. He will pursue studies in health sciences. He weighs 190 lb and measures 6′2″.

Thierry Djendoue, 19, is a lateral defenceman who has played with Team NB and Fundy U18 teams. “I have always envisioned playing for the Aigles Bleus since visiting the Moncton campus,” Djendoue explained. “I am a strong defenceman with good abilities to clear our defensive zone. I have been playing for the last five seasons and I really enjoy the team environment. I feel at ease on the field and I really enjoy playing. I wish to help the team the best I can, to live some great experiences and to progress in my abilities.” He measures 5′6″ and weighs 167 lb. He is right-handed and will study in business administration.

“I am confident these four rookies will certainly leave their mark with the Aigles Bleus program,” stated coach Younes Bouida. “I did have the opportunity to see them in action and they have great potential. They are fun to watch on the field and they will be able to surprise their opponents with their play.”
