The Université de Moncton’s Evolution Fundraising Campaign Exceeds its Objective

Mission accomplished! The Evolution Fundraising Campaign has raised $55.6 million, exceeding its initial objective of $50 million. It’s the largest amount ever raised in the history of the Université de Moncton.

“We’ve only succeeded in this achievement, which is unprecedented in the history of the Université de Moncton, thanks to the commitment and generosity of the many donors who recognize the inestimable value of our university, a flagship institution for the evolution of l’Acadie and for the Francophonie,” said interim President and Vice-Chancellor Jacques Paul Couturier. “The donations received will allow our university to stand out even more, providing a rich and memorable student experience and enhancing excellence in research and innovation.”

Mr. Couturier emphasized that the success of the Evolution Campaign stems from previous campaigns, which laid the foundations for a promising philanthropic culture in the university community. The Université de Moncton was also able to leverage this campaign to obtain over $13 million worth of government grants, in particular for the New Brunswick Precision Medicine Centre. He expressed his deep gratitude to all the volunteers, members of the Campaign Cabinet, as well as to the Co-Chairs, Bernard Lord and Camille H. Thériault, who showed exceptional leadership and determination. He thanked the university community on all three campuses for their constant unwavering support.

“The Université de Moncton is a major catalyst for Acadian society and for the Francophone community, and it is our shared duty to support it so that it can continue to be part of the social, cultural, economic and political evolution of our communities,” Mr. Camille H. Thériault stated.

“The funds raised provide the winning conditions for developing leaders and highly qualified people to work in all sectors of our economy," indicated Bernard Lord. “They’re a springboard for a new generation of researchers who are innovating and contributing to the advancement of knowledge.”

The Evolution Campaign is the fifth major campaign carried out by the Université de Moncton. Donations constitute a game-changing investment allowing the student community and the university to achieve their full potential and to face the future confidently, determinedly and proudly.
