Kyla Hughes and Alexandre Jacob are Université de Moncton athletes of the week
Field athlete Kyla Hughes, of Cocagne, and hockey forward Alexandre Jacob, of Dieppe, were chosen as athletes of the week for the period from March 2 to 8, 2020 by the Université de Moncton Athletic Department.
Kyla Hughes was the lone Aigles Bleues team member at the U SPORTS Track and Field Championships held last weekend in Edmonton, Alberta. She took 10th spot in the shot-put competition with 12.13 m. She is a second-year kinesiology student.
Forward Alexandre Jacob won 16 of 33 face-offs and took three shots on goal in the hockey Aigles Bleus consolation series games last week. He was an inspiration and dedicated player. Suffering an injury to his mouth by a flying puck, he came back to play with a face guard, knowing his team was short staffed because of injuries. He is a second-year bachelor of leisure, sport and tourism management student.
