The Université de Moncton is pleased to receive a $300,000 donation from the Fondation Élan Jeunesse to facilitate providing a rich learning experience. The donation comes as part of the Evolution Fundraising Campaign.

First, $250,000 will be used to modernize the science laboratories in the Louis-A.-Lebel Building on the Université de Moncton’s Edmundston campus. Another $50,000 will go into the “Student Experience” endowment fund to support the execution of exceptional individual or group student projects.

“The Université de Moncton’s Edmundston campus is a very important player in northwestern New Brunswick and the Fondation Élan Jeunesse is very proud to contribute to its modernization and to improving experiences for its students,” indicated the President of the Fondation Élan Jeunesse, Vincent Durepos. “One of the Fondation’s objectives is to provide students with support during their academic career, and this contribution to the Evolution Fundraising Campaign is a perfect example of how we meet this objective.”

“We’re very grateful for this support from the Fondation Élan Jeunesse, which will allow us to provide our students with an outstanding learning experience and optimum conditions for success,” noted the interim President and Vice-Chancellor, Jacques Paul Couturier. “This generous gift will also allow the Evolution Fundraising Campaign to maintain its momentum on the way to its financial goal.”

The Fondation Élan Jeunesse is a charity organization dedicated to supporting students in bringing their dreams to life, as well as in their personal development. It encourages academic success by providing scholarships and by contributing to extracurricular, cultural, humanitarian, sporting and entrepreneurial activities.

The Evolution Fundraising Campaign, whose goal has been set to $50 million, aims to enrich the student experience and heighten excellence in research and innovation at the Université de Moncton. With the donations received, the Université will be able to implement transformative projects that benefit its students, Acadian society and the whole world. The Campaign is set to close on June 19, 2020, the anniversary of the founding of the Université de Moncton.
