In Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (5-14-1=11 points, 7th position) play two road games. On Friday, they play against the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (16-3-1=33 points, 1st position) in Halifax, and on Saturday they play the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women in Antigonish (14-5-1=29 points, 3rd position).

These two opponents are already assured a spot in the playoffs. Moncton presently sits in sixth and final playoff berth, with eight games left to play. Moncton and Dalhousie are presently tied with 11 points each. The Bleu et Or has won its last two games and the Huskies lost their last two.

“We are facing two exciting challenges against the top two teams in the league,” Moncton coach Marc-André Côté said. “It will be good to compare where we stand with our progression. Our wins last weekend were very good for the team spirit, and that will help us pursue our battle. We must demonstrate we can play well on the road and continue on that wave.”

“We have a nice challenge, but if we stick to our game plan and we work hard, we can win the games,” stated forward Samantha McLaughlin. “We are facing two of the top teams in the league and we must prove we can play with them. Our two wins gave us a boost and we expect to continue riding the wave.”

All players are available for the games.
