The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus will end the first semester with two road games in Nova Scotia in Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey.

The Bleu et Or (8-5-3=19 points, 3rd position) will play the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (9-7-0=18 points, 4th position) on Friday. Saturday, they will travel to Wolfville for a matchup against the Acadia University Axemen (12-4-0=24 points, 2nd position).

The Judes Vallée coached team has won five of its last six games. Moncton and Acadia have each won their last two outings, and Saint Mary’s lost its last two. Moncton is looking to get closer to Acadia and widen the gap with the Huskies.

“We are on a good wave; we need to continue this momentum and finish the first semester on a good note,” stated Moncton coach Judes Vallée. “We have accomplished a number of interesting goals with this group of players. We are happy with what we have achieved, but we cannot be satisfied. These two games are very important. We have won against these two teams in our nest recently, and they will remember that. We need to be ready. I have a few injured players, but we must focus on our play for this last weekend.”

Second-year defencemen Olivier Desjardins is confident the team will return with four points. “We aim to win both games,” he said. “We are playing well defensively and offensively. I realize it will be different playing in their rink, but we should do well.”
