In Atlantic University Sport (AUS) women’s hockey action, the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues, who lost their last two games, play two games this weekend.

The Bleu et Or (3-12-1=7 points, 7th position) will host the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women (10-5-1=21 points, 3rd position) on Friday at 7p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena. Saturday, the Marc-André Côté coached team will be in Halifax for a game against the Dalhousie University Tigers (4-12-0=8 points, 6th position).

These teams met last weekend in Nova Scotia and Moncton lost both games by 3-0 scores. “We must play better than we did last week and be more consistent on the ice,” coach Marc-André Côté indicated. “We also need to be the first on the puck. We aim to finish the semester on a positive note and playing in our nest will be an advantage. I hope we will play more skilfully on the ice.”

Goaltender Audrey Berthiaume thinks this will be the weekend for her team. “We aim to play with identity and win both games,” she said. “There is only a small detail missing and once we get going, nothing will stop us. We are better prepared mentally for the weekend games.”
