Association des enseignantes et enseignants francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick Donates to the Université de Moncton Évolution Fundraising Campaign

Association des enseignantes et des enseignants francophones du Nouveau-Brunswick (AEFNB) has donated $105,000 to the Université de Moncton Évolution Fundraising Campaign, to support initiatives aimed at fostering the use of innovative teaching methods for students on the three campuses.

A $25,000 in cash donation will be used by the Faculty of Education Sciences to establish a new study room in its Learning Resources Centre to enhance the learning environment of students with modern interactive installations that facilitate collaboration and innovation.

With its $80,000 in-kind donation, AEFNB will participate in student training, by making presentations in some courses and by organizing educational activities and meetings of the Faculty of Education Sciences Cercle d’amies et d’amis étudiants on the three campuses.

AEFNB is also committed to participating in the creation of a scholarship fund to help recruit students in the field of education.

In recognition, Université de Moncton has announced that it will name the study room Salle AEFNB.

“Since the founding of Université de Moncton, and more specifically since the creation of the Faculty of Education Sciences in 1973, a close working relationship has grown between the institution and association through the reciprocal contribution of our expertise,” stated AEFNB chair, Gérald Arseneault. He added that “Université de Moncton plays a vital role in the initial and ongoing training of New Brunswick’s Francophone teaching staff. AEFNB is therefore proud to be associated with this Acadian intellectual beacon and contribute to ensuring its sustainability and influence.”

“Université de Moncton welcomes the mark of solidarity of AEFNB vis-à-vis our institution and student population,” stated Interim President and Vice-Chancellor, Jacques Paul Couturier. He added that “this support for the Évolution Fundraising Campaign contributes to enhancing the training of students in Education Sciences on our three campuses. Like AEFNB, Université de Moncton wants to create optimal teaching conditions in the French language in Acadie, from early childhood to postsecondary education.”

The Évolution Fundraising Campaign is aimed at improving the student experience and reinforcing excellence in research and innovation at Université de Moncton. The donations received are used to establish transformative projects to the benefit of students, Acadian and universal society. For further information: umoncton.ca/dons/en/home.
