Université de Moncton to Offer Programs at Collège Boréal’s New Toronto Campus

Some Francophone or bilingual Canadian universities, including the Université de Moncton, will be offering programs at Collège Boréal’s new campus in Toronto’s Distillery District under the auspices of “2+2” articulation agreements between colleges and universities.

Under these partnerships, students enrolled in selected college programs at Collège Boréal will have the option to complete an undergraduate degree while remaining, in most cases, on the new Collège Boréal campus located in Toronto’s Distillery District.

Representatives of Collège Boréal, Laurentian University, Saint Paul University the University of Ottawa, the Université de Moncton and the Glendon College of York University were present today at the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer (ONCAT), the organization responsible for creating credit transfer pathways for students across Ontario, for the official signing of articulation agreements with Collège Boréal.

“I am pleased of this cooperation agreement with Collège Boréal, and I thank Collège Boréal for providing the Université de Moncton this opportunity to contribute to the French-language education of students at its Toronto campus,” stated Jacques Paul Couturier, interim president and vice-chancellor of the Université de Moncton. “I am confident that this arrangement between Collège Boréal and all the partners across Canada will be highly rewarding in keeping with the innovative vision for postsecondary education behind this initiative.”

The learning design will be developed around four focus areas: health sciences, community services, business and information technology.

Upon completing a two-year college diploma, students will have the option to continue their studies for two more years in the university program corresponding to their college diploma, hence the term “2+2.”

Participating universities will have the exclusive right to offer a minimum of two programs each. These initial university partnerships will be supplemented by additional articulation agreements. All programs offered at Collège Boréal will be covered under articulation agreements before the opening of the college’s new Toronto campus, which is scheduled for the fall of 2021.
