The RBC Foundation is making a major donation of $450,000 to the Université de Moncton’s Evolution Fundraising Campaign.

This generous donation, the largest ever from the Foundation to the Université, will go to partly fund the institution’s experiential living program, which supports partnerships and mentorship opportunities between students and businesses or not-for-profit organizations. This donation from the RBC Foundation will encourage experiential learning activities that will enrich and enhance students’ employability profile after they graduate from university.

“We are very grateful for the RBC Foundation’s generosity,” said the interim President and Vice-Chancellor of the Université de Moncton, Jacques Paul Couturier. “The Foundation’s support is key to our students. The Université de Moncton’s experiential learning program is extremely important and brings added value to the university careers of the students who take advantage of it.”

“Canada’s prosperity will depend on our capacity to channel the vitality, savoir-faire, capacity for innovation and optimism of youth. Universities play an important role in preparing our young people for the future,” declared Janice McNutt-Lanctin, Regional Vice-President, Eastern New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, at RBC Royal Bank. “It is more important than ever to work together and find solutions to the unique challenges that face young people as they look for a stimulating job. We are proud to be part of this initiative, along with the Université de Moncton, to ensure that our youth are more confident, better prepared and better equipped to face the future.”

RBC is among the top 50 Canadian corporations for good corporate citizenship and has a broad range of commitments to the well-being of the next generation.

The aim of the Evolution Major Fundraising Campaign is to improve excellence in research and development and to offer an extremely enriching student experience at the Université de Moncton. As part of the campaign, the Université de Moncton is developing one of the most generous and motivating scholarship programs in the province to support its students, recruit new ones and support postgraduate studies.
