The Université de Moncton and totaliQ Partnering on an Artificial Intelligence Project

The team of artificial intelligence specialists in the Perception, Robotics and Machine Intelligence (PRIME) group at the Université de Moncton, directed by Professor Moulay Akhloufi of the Computer Science Department, will develop artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms to process data in the program totaliQ.

The PRIME team will be building the AI component of totaliQ. The software will then be used by the Cahill Group, one of the largest multi-disciplinary construction companies in Canada.

Francis LeBlanc, Associate Vice-President of Research and Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, expressed pleasure at the news. “We are very proud of our team of AI specialists. This partnership confirms that the Université de Moncton compares favourably with larger universities in this field. I’m sure that Professor Akhloufi’s team will be able to meet or even exceed the expectations of totaliQ.”

The PRIME team’s research project is funded by Mitacs and the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program.
