The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (13-10-4=30 points, 4th position) are hosting the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers (12-11-3=27 points, 5th position) this Friday at 7 p.m. at the J-Louis-Lévesque Arena in Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey.

Moncton has a three-point lead over the Panthers with three games left in the regular-season play. This is the last home game for Moncton in the regular season.

“This is an important game and we aim to show our spectators that have followed us all year that we are capable of winning,” said defencemen Olivier Desjardins. “We appreciate their attendance at our games. The standings are very close and we want the home-ice advantage. The players are aware of the importance of the game. Defensively, we need to play tight and limit the number of shots on goal. We need to plan our zone play, get the puck out as soon as possible and play in their zone.”

“Our aim is to widen the gap between us and them and we still have hope for third place,” added coach Judes Vallée. “We proved on Wednesday that we can play against the top teams and come back. We have had our difficulties against the Panthers this season, but we play well in our nest. This is our last regular-season home game and the team is in the process of getting ready for the playoffs. We will also recognize our 4th and 5th year players. We need to get back on the road to victory in front of our home crowd and play well for them. We appreciate their support.”

The Aigles Bleus will recognize their 4th and 5th year players before the game. They include 4th year Robbie Graham, Marc-Anthony Therrien and Thierry Comtois and 5th year Danick Emond and Victor Beaulac.

Étienne Montpetit will be the goaltender. Marc-Anthony Therrien should be back in the line-up.
