Hockey Aigles Bleues Play Two Games

The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (10-11-1=21 points, 6th position) will play in two Atlantic University Sport (AUS) women’s hockey games this weekend in Fredericton and Halifax.

The St. Thomas University Tommies (17-4-1=35 points, 1st position) will host the Aigles Bleues on Friday in Fredericton. The Tommies have lost their last two outings. Sunday, the Aigles Bleues will go head to head with the Dalhousie University Tigers (7-13-2=16 points, 7th position) in Halifax. With six games left in the regular schedule, Moncton has a five-point lead over the Tigers for the last qualifying AUS playoffs spot.

“The players know the importance of these two games,” stated Moncton coach Marc-André Côté. “We did win against the Tommies last weekend, and I know that they are determined for revenge. We will be ready for a second win. We are looking for more distance between us and the Tigers, and the results will influence the final standings. We are also four points away from the fourth position. This is a deciding weekend.”

Audrey Berthiaume will be in nets. Cassandra Labrie will miss the games and Sarah-Ève Mailhot and Jennifier Arsenault are doubtful starters.
