Aigles Bleues to Host Tommies
The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (9-10-1=19 points, 6th position) will play against the top teams in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) women’s hockey action.Marc-André Côté’s team will head off against the top AUS team, the St. Thomas University Tommies (17-3-0=34 points), Friday at 7.p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena. Saturday, the squad will head to Nova Scotia to meet the St. Francis Xavier University X-Women (12-5-3=27 points, 2nd position).
“We will concentrate on the Friday game at first against the top team,” Côté said. “We did not play well during their last visit in Moncton. We need to do better. It will be interesting to play the top two teams because we can measure our play against them. We had very energetic practices this week to get ready for the games. We were able to win over StFX in our last outing and we expect to repeat that performance.”
Moncton lost 5-0 to the Tommies in late November and won 4-0 over the X-Women in January. The Aigles Bleues lost their last two games and hold a five-point lead over the Dalhousie Tigers, in 7th spot.
