Two recruits will join the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues volleyball team for the 2019-2020 season according to coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll.

Abigail Pallister, of Moncton, and Cassidy Martin, of Saint-Charles-de-Kent, have indicated their desire to join the Aigles Bleues in September 2019.

Pallister is a 6-foot centre who plays with the Fuzion U18 high performance team. She will study criminology. “I have been playing in the Fuzion system at the Université de Moncton for the last number of years, and I wanted to study in my home town,” said Abigail Pallister, a Grade 12 student from L’Odyssée. “I began to play in Grade 7 at Le Mascaret. The Université de Moncton program is sort of continuity from Fuzion. My role as a centre is to block opponents and score points. I am able to bring my block with me and outplay my opponents.”

Martin is a 5-foot-10-inch setter and a member of the Fuzion U18 high performance team. She will study physical education. “I have played and grown in the Fuzion program held at the Université de Moncton,” added Cassidy Martin, a Mathieu-Martin Grade 12 student. “I have been living in Moncton since Grade 9 and I have learned a lot since that time with the study/sports program and Fuzion. I enjoy being a setter; there are always interesting challenges. This is my fifth year in the sport.” Her mother Marsha is a former university player and participated in the Canada games. She is a coach. Her brother Tyler is in his third season playing volleyball at Collège Limoilou.

“I am thrilled by the commitment of these two players,” said coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll. “I know these girls very well and I respect their passion for the sport. I know they are willing to progress and learn and will do anything to become very good university calibre players. They will be a fit in nicely with the solid nucleus of players on the team.”
