Aigles Bleues host Tommies

The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (6-7-1=13 points, 6th position) host the St. Thomas University Tommies (10-2-0=20 points, 1st position) at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena this Friday at 7 p.m. in an Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey game.

It will be the second game between the two teams in one week. Moncton lost by a score of 4-2 on Sunday in Fredericton.

“The Tommies have a very nice structured play; they minimize errors and take good decisions on the ice,” said Moncton coach Marc-André Côté. “We are happy to be returning to our nest after two weeks. We know what to expect and we will be ready.”

Maëlle Rioux registered a hat trick in the Wednesday evening 7-2 win by Moncton. “We played as a team Wednesday and we will build on that for Friday,” Rioux said. “We played with intensity and for two periods. We need to do better on Friday, play according to our skills and capacity. We will forge ahead and play well from the beginning.”
