Hockey Aigles Bleues Host Mounties Friday

The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (1-3-0=2 points, 8th position) are trying to find the magic ingredient that will get them back on the winning track and get out of last place in the standings as they play two weekend Atlantic University Sport (AUS) women’s hockey games.

The Aigles will play and host for the first time this season to the Mount Allison University Mounties (2-2-0=4 points, 5th position) on Friday at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena. Saturday, the team will travel to Halifax for an encounter with the Dalhousie University Tigers (1-2-1=3 points, 6th position) at 7 p.m.

“This is our first game against the Mounties who have a fast and energetic team,” stated Moncton coach Marc-André Côté. “We put our efforts on the special units this week following our loss to the Huskies. These units were not efficient. We need to score more often.”

There is a friendly rivalry against the Tigers as the teams met last spring in the AUS championships. “We always play intense and very physical games,” Côté added. “We want to continue building on the good things we did last weekend and find ways to score more goals.”

Audrey Berthiaume will be the goaltender on Friday.
