The Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (3-3-0=6 points, 3rd position) will host St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (1-2-2=4 points, 5th position) for the second time in two weeks in an Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey game at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena on Friday at 7 p.m.

Moncton won the first game between these two teams with a score of 3-2 on October 5th. Following a 4-1 win on Wednesday against the Dalhousie University Tigers, the Judes Vallée coached team is now looking for its fourth win of the season during the alumni homecoming weekend.

“It is important to be able to win two games in a row,” said coach Judes Vallée. “We need to bring our sleeves up and work harder. We lost our last home game, and we need this one during this important weekend. We need to play disciplined hockey and repeat our excellent performance of Wednesday in our nest. We will play well after our Thursday practice.”

Rookie goaltender Étienne Montpetit won his first university career win on Wednesday. He was not able to complete his first game because of an injury suffered during the play. “It was fun to see the guys play in front of me,” Montpetit said. “The university calibre is high with bigger, stronger and faster players and aggressive play. I am just back from an injury, and it was important for me to play a very good first period on Wednesday. I must remain concentrated on the play all the time. The style of play is much different than in the major junior league. We are on a very nice progression, and we need to work well defensively to win on Friday. We need to limit the opposing team's scoring chances.”

Étienne Montpetit will be the goaltender on Friday.
