The Université de Moncton’s Student Recruitment Strategy Bearing Fruit

The Université de Moncton has seen an increase of 157 full-time enrolments for the autumn 2018 session, the greatest increase in over a decade, for a current total of 4,365 full-time enrolments.

“We refined our recruitment strategies, not just in New Brunswick and Canada but also abroad, and put a special emphasis on improving the student experience, and now we’re seeing the results,” said Interim President and Vice-Chancellor Jacques Paul Couturier. “ For example, we now work closely with recruiting agencies in several countries and we are able to better personalize our relationships with these important partners. We’ve also reviewed several internal processes to make them more efficient, particularly in the Admissions Department and the Student Recruitment Office.”

The number of international full-time enrolments has risen from 694 in 2017-2018 to 777 in 2018-2019, an increase of 83. In the same period, enrolments of Canadian students rose from 3,514 to 3,588, an increase of 74.

The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is still the most popular, with 1,064 full-time enrolments, followed by the Faculty of Health Sciences and Community Services with 1,001 and the Faculty of Sciences with 741. The largest increase was in the Faculty of Administration, with 51 new enrolments.

These tables provide more detailed data on enrolments at the three campuses of the Université de Moncton as of Monday, September 17, 2018.
