Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus men’s soccer coach, Florian Ntima-Nsiemi, is pleased that three young New Brunswick players have decided to join his team for the next Atlantic University Sport soccer season.

Toussaint Mumbili, of Moncton, Simon Brideau, of Tracadie, and Joslain Boucher, of Shediac, are the three young aspiring players and are members of the South East Soccer High Performance Program. They will report to the Moncton campus in August. All three measure 5 feet 9 inches.

Mumbili is a middle defenceman who played with Team New Brunswick in last year’s Canada Summer Games. He will pursue primary education studies. Simon Brideau is a striker and was also a member of Team NB at the Canada Summer Games. He will study in criminology. Striker Joslain Boucher was also at the Canada Games last year in Winnipeg. He will also study in primary education.

“Mumbili is a versatile player who has lived in the Greater Moncton area,” said coach Ntima-Nsiemi. “He was followed closely by the Montreal Impact and Toronto FC academies. He can play defence or midfield, and brings a lot of energy on the field. He should become a pillar for our team. Joslain Boucher is a very capable player with excellent passing capabilities. He should bring many opportunities of scoring. Simon Brideau was named on the Canada Games all-star team, and is also followed closely with the Impact. He is athletic and can run very fast. He will help us score in close games. I look forward to having these players in August.”

As for the women’s soccer team, coach Mehyar Zekaroui is happy that Fredericton’s Sarah Thomas, will join his team. A lateral defence player, she should be an impact player with the Moncton campus team.
