Aigles Bleus play two games in Nova Scotia

Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (3-17-2 = 8 points, 7th position) travel to Nova Scotia on Friday and Saturday for two crucial men’s hockey games in Atlantic University Sport. The results could have an impact on Moncton’s chances to advance to the playoffs.

The Jude Vallée coached team will play in Halifax, Friday, against Dalhousie University Tigers (4-18-1 = 9 points, 6th place). Saturday, they will be in Antigonish for a matchup with the St. Francis Xavier University X-Men (18-1-4 = 40 points, 1st position). Moncton has lost its last five games and battles with Dalhousie and University of Prince Edward Island Panthers (5-16-1 = 11 points, 5th position) for the last two playoff spots. They have eight games left to play.

“We cannot afford to lose ground on these two teams,” said Moncton coach Judes Vallée. “We have a nice challenge. We played well in our last outing and we were competitive. This boosted our confidence. We are still building our team’s confidence because of the season we are having. As coaches, we have worked hard all week to prepare the players for these games. It is now up to them to play. I look forward to seeing them play. This is positive. Friday’s game is very important. We have our destiny in our own hands. We have been playing pressure hockey for a while. We have a positive energy with very good vibrations coming from the players. This was witnessed this week in practices with a lot of intensity. We have three games left against teams we can beat, and it would be great to get a win or two against the top teams.”

All players are available for the weekend.
