Hockey Aigles Bleus to play Cégep Saint-Laurent team in Edmundston

Many Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues players have come from various Québec Cégeps. The Denis Ross led troupe will play an exhibition game against the Saint-Laurent Cégep team, on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the new Jean-Daigle Centre, in Edmundston.

Members of the Aigles Bleues will hold a skating and training session in the morning with about 15 girls from the area. Members of the Québec team will visit the Edmundston campus of the Université de Moncton.

“I wanted to shorten the period between our last first semester game and our first second semester game,” Moncton coach Denis Ross said. “It is also an opportunity for the Edmundston campus to host the Cégep girls and show them the campus because they will pursue university studies in the coming months. We will also promote female hockey in the area with our training session in the morning and game in the afternoon.”

Émilie Arsenault and Gabrielle Forget will share net minding duties in the game. Several players will miss the trip because of studies. The public is invited to attend the game. Aigles goaltender Sabrina Lebrun is a former student of Saint-Laurent.
