Pascale Doiron and Joël Blanchard are U de M athletes of the week

Volleyball player Pascale Doiron, of Dieppe and hockey forward, Joël Blanchard, of Caraquet, New Brunswick, have been chosen as Physiotherapy Sportmed athletes of the week for the period of November 13 to 19 by the Université de Moncton Athletic Department, Moncton campus.

Pascale Doiron had a very busy weekend with five games, in four days with the Aigles Bleues in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) tournament at CEPS. She registered 68 kills, 82 digs, 5 aces and 4 blocks during the 21 sets of those games, with the majority going to four or five sets with very close scores. She was a pillar for her team in all those sets, during the two wins and three losses. Her consistent play was a motivation for her team in all sets. She is a bachelor of social work student.

Forward Joël Blanchard was a tireless worker in both weekend losses. He never stopped skating, playing and motivating his team mates in his defensive and offensive roles. He was often close to the puck and did his job on the ice. He is a bachelor of civil engineering student.
