Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (1-0) travel to St John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, for three Atlantic University Sport women’s volleyball games against Memorial University Sea-Hawks (0-0) this weekend.

The Aigles Bleues won their first outing of the season 3-1, and coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll is looking for more standings points. Games will be held on Friday and Saturday, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, at 1 p.m.

“The first game will see both teams experience with various plays,” explained Moncton coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll. “We will look at their strategies and answer with our plays. We have not seen them play this season, but they did well in preseason games. The Sea-Hawks always have an interesting team. The league has seen many changes in every team this year with many inexperienced players. That means a bit less experience, but also a lot of unknowns at the beginning of the season. We will see from the first set, there is always a lot of dynamics playing against the Sea-Hawks. Playing three games in as many days against the same team is challenging.”

“We are a new team and we need to learn to play together, and this trip will give us a chance to get to know each other better,” said centre Pascale Doiron. “Memorial always has a strong team, but like us, they also have rookies. We will have to adapt and play our game. The first game will influence how we play the next two and we will do our best to play our tempo. We need to work on all aspects of our game from service reception to sending the ball in the front and attacking.”

All games may be followed on AUStv.ca.
