Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (2-2-0=4pts, 4th place) head to Fredericton, on Saturday at 2 p.m., for a regular season 2017-2018 Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey game against St. Thomas University Tommies (1-3-0=2pts, 6th position).

The Denis Ross coached team will then travel to Sackville, on Sunday, for a game against Mount Allison University Mounties (0-4-0=0pts, 7th position) at 2p.m.

“These are our first regular season games against these teams,” said Moncton coach Denis Ross. “We did play against them in preseason. The Tommies just won their first game after having a rough start, so I am sure they will be up against us to gain in the standings. For us, the two standings points are important in our objectives. The Mounties are winless, but it is always difficult to play in Sackville, they always step up their game and we have a nice rivalry.”

Defensemen Chantal Beauchamp says the two games can be won by her team. “These are two games we should win,” Beauchamp said. “We will need a team effort, good motivation and work hard on the ice. Even if these teams are lower than us in the standings, it will not be easy. These two teams always play hard against us.”

Katherine Dubuc and Gabrielle Saulnier will probably miss both games. Gabrielle Forget will be the goaltender on Saturday and Sabrina Lebrun, on Sunday.

Both games can be seen on AUStv.ca.
