Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (1-1-0=2 points) play two weekend games in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey Conference.

Friday evening at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena, Denis Ross’s team will host Dalhousie University Tigers (2-0-0=4 points, 1st place), an activity of the home-coming weekend of the Moncton campus. Sunday, they travel to Halifax for a second matchup with Saint Mary’s University Huskies (2-0-0=4 points, 1st place). The Huskies blanked Moncton 2-0 last Sunday.

“Each of these two teams did win their last two games,” stated Moncton coach Denis Ross. “We will have to be more patient and vigilant during than the game here. The Huskies did blank us and we are going to visit them in their smaller rink. We will have to adjust and play better defensively and offensively.”

“The Huskies ice surface is smaller, but we learned our lesson on Sunday,” said forward player Marie-Pier Corriveau. “We will have to be faster on the ice. We also want to shoot more often, that is our strategy against good teams. We have not yet played against Dalhousie, but we will be ready to play in our own rink, on Friday. We do not want to lose twice in a row in our nest. We have a great small team with very efficient rookies. We have gained confidence with our winning streak. We have a lot more scoring punch.”

Gabrielle Forget will be the goaltender on Friday and Sabrina Lebrun, Sunday in Halifax. The games can be seen on AUStv.ca.
