Volleyball U de M travels to Montréal

Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues take to the road this weekend as they travel to Montréal, for the annual McGill University women’s volleyball preseason tournament.

“I have many rookies this season and it is important for them to get initiated to university calibre volleyball,” Moncton coach Monette Boudreau-Carroll said. “They are going to play against some of the top teams in Canada. I will be able to evaluate our plays and see how we compare to the other teams at this stage. It will give me the tools needed to get the team at that level. The first tournament always gives us an idea of the calibre for the coming season and what the other teams look like. There are many changes every year and I want to know if we can compete with those teams.”

Moncton plays its first game on Friday evening, at 7 p.m. (EST) against host McGill. The team will then meet Saint Mary’s and Montréal, Saturday at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively. The bronze medal and championship games are Sunday at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
