Université de Moncton celebrates 50th anniversary of J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena

The Université de Moncton will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena (1966-2016) on Friday, January 29, 2016, during a hockey game between the Aigles Bleus and St. Thomas University Tommies at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Suzanne Lévesque, chairperson of the Fondation J.-Louis Lévesque, will be on hand to mark this important occasion in her father’s legacy.

Over the years, students have benefited greatly from the generosity of J.-Louis Lévesque, one of the Université de Moncton’s largest benefactors. The foundation which carries his name has provided innumerable benefits to the university and played a major role in the institution’s development and influence.

To highlight the occasion, a commemorative hockey puck will be given to all fans attending the game. As well, the Université de Moncton’s alumni association (“alUMni”) will offer a door prize during the game – a 2016-2017 season pass for all sports, including playoff games, with the purchase of a 50/50 ticket.

The community is invited to help celebrate this anniversary and to cheer on the Aigles Bleus by proudly wearing blue and gold.
