Isabelle Morris and Alain Doucet are the athletes of the week

Athletes Isabelle Morris, of Miramichi and Alain Doucet, of Dieppe, New Brunswick, have been chosen as Physiotherapy Sportmed athletes of the week for the period of March 6 to 12, 2017 by the Université de Moncton Athletic Department.

Isabelle Morris took 12th spot in heptathlon at the U SPORTS Track and Field Championships, in Edmonton, Alberta. She gained 2,778 points with a personal best in long jump with a distance of 4.72m. She recorded times and distances as follows: 10.02s in 60mh; 2:57.07 in 800m; 1.50m in high jump; and 10.63m in shot put. She is ranked 12th in Canada for the event. She is a kinesiology student.

Alain Doucet took 10th spot in heptathlon at the U SPORTS Championships. He recorded 4,211 points. He was 12th (7.62s) in 60m; 10th (9.44s) in 60mh; 10th (5.86m) in long jump; 10th (10.41m) in shot put; 10th (1.69m) in high jump; 3rd and personal best 4.20m in pole vault and 9th (3:05.70), in 1,000 m. He was ranked 12th going in the competition. He is an engineering (electrical) student.
