Hockey Aigles Bleues play two road games

Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues (4-7-3=11pts, 5th position) will visit the Mount Allison University Mounties (3-11-0=6pts, 6th position) on Friday and the Saint Mary’s University Huskies (10-1-2=22pts, 2nd position), on Sunday in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey action.

The U de M team has lost its last four games and the Mounties, five. Moncton has not scored a goal in its last 10 periods of play. "We do not give many goals but we need to score some to win " coach Denis Ross said. "Our focus this week was capitalising on scoring opportunities without neglecting our defensive play. We have to overcome this difficulty. Our plays and systems must be followed to get ready for the playoffs. These are two must wins for us."

"We will take advantage of our scoring opportunities " added team captain, Karine Roy. "The second half is always more competitive than the first. The stakes are higher and each team looks to secure its position. We have to try our hardest beginning this weekend. The other teams need to know we are serious."

In brief… Gabrielle Forget will be the goaltender on Friday… Karine Roy is 8th in the AUS scoring race with 11 points on 7 goals and 4 assists… The Aigles have 10 games remaining in regular schedule, including five at home… Jessica Duclos and Judyane Bernier will miss the weekend games because of injuries… The team roster is similar as the first semester.
