Adoption of report on academic planning

All academic units may now begin using the Université de Moncton’s report on academic planning for guiding the directions of their programs.

The report, submitted by the Joint Committee on Planning regarding academic planning at the Université de Moncton, was first examined by the Academic Senate at its meeting held on November 4, 2016. At that time, the Academic Senate adopted the report with an amendment allowing for study programs found on the cancellation list to be considered for redefinition, if necessary.

The report adopted by the Board of Governors includes the Academic Senate’s amendment. It contains a complete evaluation of the 165 undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate study programs offered at the three campuses. The evaluation is based on the demographic, economic and sociocultural context in which the Université de Moncton operates.

The report classifies the study programs in several categories: 78 programs are found in the category of programs considered to be priority; 27 are listed as programs to maintain; 57 programs require closer study; 21 programs are to be developed; and 21 programs are to be redefined or cancelled. Some of the 165 programs appear in two categories.

The report on academic planning at the Université de Moncton is available in the Documents souvent consultés (Frequently Accessed Documents) section of the Université de Moncton’s website.
