Jean-François Plante is named athlete of the week
Plante scored three goals and added an assist in his teams two 4-2 wins last week. Saturday, he scored the winner with 27 seconds left in the third period to break a lasting 2-2 tie game. His first, mid-way in the middle stanza, gave his team the momentum needed as they were behind 2-0 at the time. He finished the game at +2 with 9 shots on goal. Wednesday evening, he collected one goal and an assist. His goal was the assurance at the end of the game and his assist was on the equalizer, in the second period, as his team was behind 2-1. He had 6 shots on goal and +1. He is the AUS and U Sports third top point getter with 20 goals and 9 assists, for 29 points, including 5 power play goals, a hat trick and one game winner. He is a kinesiology student.
