Hockey Aigles Bleues in Halifax

Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues will put an end to their first semester in Atlantic University Sport women’s hockey schedule by traveling to Halifax on Saturday to play their 14th game of 24 against the Saint Mary’s University Huskies at 2 p.m.

The Huskies are in second spot in the standings with nine wins, one loss and two overtime losses for 20 points. The Aigles Bleues have lost their three last starts and are fifth with 4-6-3, for 11 points. This will be the second encounter between the two teams, the Huskies winning 2-1 in the first game.

"We have to find a way to score, we cannot put the puck in the net lately," coach Denis Ross said. "We will get ready the same way we do for all games with the focus on completing our play to the net and scoring."

According to team captain Karine Roy, the team must capitalize in the offensive zone. "We must take advantage of our chances because we cannot win if we don’t score," Roy said. "The Huskies play a rough game; we will have to win our one on one battles, get the puck out of our zone and score. It is essential to complete our plays. We will not attain our objective of a top 3 finish at Christmas, we will have to come stronger after the holidays."
