Hockey Aigles Bleus to host Huskies and Axemen

Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (3-7-0=6pts, 7th position) are looking to get out of the cellar of the standings by playing two home games on Friday and Saturday in Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey action.

The Saint Mary’s University Huskies (3-6-1=7pts, 6th position) will be the visitors on Friday evening, Remembrance Day while the Acadia University Axemen (5-5-0=10pts, 5th position), will play on Saturday evening, both games at 7 p.m. at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena. This weekend is the only one this season with two home games in two days.

"We are definitely looking for two wins and the focus will be on the details of our play," coach Serge Bourgeois said. "We need wins to get out of the cellar. We are not that far from the middle of the pack in the standings, but we are approaching the must win situation. We must offer a better performance on home ice. This is the only weekend with two games back to back in our nest. We played good games against these two teams and we must find a way to win them both."

"These are two important gamers for us", added team co-captain, Alex Saulnier. "We need big standings points and we must battle Saint Mary’s to get out of the cellar. Acadia has speed and depth and we had difficulty against them in our first two games. If we play our game, we can beat any team. The practices this week were harder and it felt good. We have already played a third of the season and we must find our confidence for the second third."

Forward Marc-Anthony Therrien will miss the games following a hard hit last Saturday.
