Carol-Ann MacDonald and Jérémie Pellerin are the athletes of the week

Cross country runners Carol-Ann MacDonald, of Irishtown and Jérémie Pellerin, of Cocagne, have been chosen as Physiotherapy Sportmed athletes of the week for the period of October 24th to 30th by the Université de Moncton Athletic Department.

Carol-Ann MacDonald took seventh spot at the Atlantic University Sport Cross Country Championships held on Saturday in Antigonish in the 6km women’s race. She had a time of 23min 23s and was named on the AUS all-star team with her rank and persistent work. Her team of the Aigles Bleues was fourth in final standings. She is a nutrition student.

Jérémie Pellerin registered the best time of New Brunswick runners with an eight place at the 10km men’s race, in a time of 33min 15s, less than a minute behind the winner. His rank and the final placings of his other teammates were strong enough for a third spot and the bronze medal in final team standings, a first for many years. He is general bachelor of arts student.
