29 student athletes honored by U de M for CIS academic achievements

The Université de Moncton Athletics Department recognized 29 athletes that were named to the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) All-Canadian honour roll for their academic achievements.
These student athletes maintained an academic average of 3.7 or more during the 2015-2016 season. President and vice chancellor, Raymond Théberge, congratulated them for their dedication and abilities in academic and sport sectors.

Administration and human resources vice-president, Edgar Robichaud, valued the merits of the students for their hard work, both academically and in sports.

Athletic director, Marc Boudreau, knows the many sacrifices made by those students to achieve in both sectors.

The 29 student athletes are Miriook St-Arnaud-Hivon (track and field), Bouctouche; Raphaël Choquette (track and field / cross country), Dieppe; Judith Desjardins (volleyball), McLeod Hill; Émilie Bouchard, (hockey), Casselman, Ont.; Vincent Bouchard (track and field), Saint-François de Madawaska; Alex Noël (hockey), Dieppe; Steve Lebel (hockey), Lemoyne, Québec; Samuele Acca (soccer), Sassari, Italy ; Natacha Bergeron (hockey), Berthierville, Quebec; Christelle Frenette (track and field), Dieppe; Dominique Bérubé (hockey), Trois-Pistoles, Quebec; Émilie Landry (volleyball), Fredericton; Christine Martin (soccer), Edmundston; Marie-Christine Noël (cross country), Dieppe ; Karine Roy (hockey) Nigadoo; Nina Yvette Tougouri (soccer), Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso ; Danièle Walters (soccer), Atholville; Jean-Luc Bastarache (track and field), Truro, Nova Scotia; Louis Bergeron (soccer), Trois-Rivières, Quebec; Thierry Comtois (hockey), Sherbrooke, Quebec; Alain Doucet (track and field), Dieppe; Pierre Durepos (hockey), Shediac; Jean-Sébastien Fournier (hockey), Lévis, Quebec; Patrick Huard (hockey), Saint-Arthur; Christian Richard (track and field), Moncton; Pierre-Luc Roy (cross country/track and field), Dieppe; Daniel Saucier (track and fieldt/cross country), Riverview; Alex Saulnier (hockey), Cap-Pelé and Allain Saulnier (hockey), Cap-Pelé.

A number deans and heads of faculty were present for the recognition breakfast held at the Royal Oaks Golf Club in Moncton.
